When I was in Spain, I had never thought about doing journalism and it had never caught my attention.
When I arrived, I wasn’t very sure whether to do journalism or not because I had no experience in it. But I still decided to give it a chance and try the class.
In the first class, the teacher, Ms.Nelson, explained to us a little how we were going to work, what we were going to do in class and showed us the school’s website with stories that other students from previous years had written.
I started to be really interested in the class, so I thought it was a good idea for me to stay because it was going to be really helpful to improve my writing skills.
Every class I took was more and more interesting. At first we started doing small tasks, but later I had to write my first story. We had to choose a topic to write about and I chose to tell my experience so far in my exchange year.
The first story turned out quite well, and was published on the school’s website. Many people asked me about the story and that made me very happy because I realized that quite a few people had read it.
After that, I wrote another one about my experience in volleyball, since it seems like a very good idea to write stories about my experiences here. That way when other exchange students come to this high school they can read them and see all the good things that this school has.
I am glad to have gotten into this class and to be able to tell my experience in it. I want to encourage all those people who like to write to take this class because it is a class that gives you great tips and teaches you a lot.
I also want to thank Mrs. Nelson for being so good to all her students by supporting us and helping us. She makes all these classes better, and I hope that many people have the opportunity to take this class with her because I think it is a very good experience.
