Both of Elmira’s varsity basketball teams have been playing well to start the season.
The boys hold a record of 4-4 and the girls’ record is 4-2.
Both teams went on the road and faced a tough East Linn Christian opponent on Dec. 17.
The Falcons battled hard, but ultimately came up short to the Eagles. The girls lost 29-30 in a tough ending and the boys lost 41-54.
Varsity captain junior Kaeden Garcia expresses his thoughts on the season.
“We just continue to keep getting better and I am excited to see how far we can go this season,” Garcia told Falcon News.
The boys play on Friday at home vs. Horizon Christian/Tualatin at 7:30 p.m.
Both the girls and boys will play at the Moda Center, home of the Portland Trail Blazers, on Saturday. The girls will look to extend their positive record and the boys will work to get into a positive record.

“I want to see our girls play as a team and bounce back after our loss against East Linn Christian,” Breaux said.
The Falcons will play against Westside Christian on Saturday, with girls beginning at 3:30 p.m. and the boys beginning at 5 p.m.
