The Elmira High School football team extended their winning streak to four after shutting out the Harrisburg Eagles 45-0 last Friday.
The Falcons were led by senior Kyler Colwell who had 165 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns in the first half in which he played.
After a dominant first half, most starters were pulled to give the back-up JV players some time to shine.
The Falcons have beaten Pleasant Hill, Madras, La Pine and now Harrisburg after suffering a tough losing streak to start the season.
“I really was hoping for more, but I’m glad we were able to bring it together at the end of the season, even after a rough start,” Colwell told Falcon News.
The Falcons honored their senior players the night of their last home game on Oct. 18 against La Pine. The team’s seniors are Kyler Colwell, Keelan Hecker, JT Myers, Logan Renasia, Logan Burnett, Liam McGuire, and Zane Clemmer.
The Falcons still have the potential to make it to the playoffs, however they will have to work hard this week.
In order to make the playoffs, the Falcons will first have to win their game against the undefeated Cottage Grove Lions this Friday.
If they can achieve this victory, Elmira will have the chance to qualify by being one of the top four non-qualifying teams.
