EHS National Honor Society Welcomes New Members

Elmira High School’s National Honor Society welcomes new members and says goodbye to graduating seniors.

The club held its annual end-of-the-year banquet on May 6 in the EHS Theater.

Sophomores recently accepted into NHS include Easy Armstrong, Caydence Farrar, Wyatt Frome, Michael Gomez, Rylee Rice, Spencer Stone, Brett VanDamme, Jake VanDamme, Kharsin Vanhtha, Emily Weston and Hannah Yaskovic.

Juniors recently accepted into NHS include Dylan Carney, Jesus Coronado-Valle, Allison Davis, Ananda Puff and Brady Storey.

“It’s always fun to welcome new members,” NHS adviser Michelle Nelson said. “This group in particular has expressed a passion for giving back, so I’m excited about the difference they will make in our community during the next year.”

Before welcoming the new members during the banquet, NHS also honored its graduating seniors.

The senior members include Ethan Bennett, Kara Catmull, Ezra Collins, Maritza Espinoza, Iris Frome, Jade Jones, Alicia Murdock, Lillian Ossowski, Maya Puff, Jonathan Rhodes, Arina Rose and Macaira Smith.

“I’m going to miss this group,” Nelson said. “They are natural leaders, and I just know they’re going to do amazing things in this world.”
