The Elmira Lady Falcons rocked it at Siuslaw on Friday, winning both games in their double-header.
The first match-up saw the Falcons dominate, ending the game 12-6. The second game was even more impressive, seeing Elmira blow out the competition 12-1.
Falcon News reached out to Coach Rindy Spicer about the games last week.
“Playing as a team means working together as a team on and off the field,” she said. “Their love for the game was shown Friday and as a team together.”
The season is going very well for the softball team. The Falcons have won most of their league match-ups and are currently ranked #26 in the state with 13 games still to go.
Spicer went on to praise the Falcon athletes.
“This team has a lot of talent and potential,” she said. “With hard work and determination these girls are unstoppable.”
Sophomore Audrey Varozza pitched the second game in the double-header, throwing thirteen strikes in a row and no balls in the first inning.
She went on to only throw thirteen balls in four innings before junior Layla Burgess came in to pitch and close out the night.
The team goes on to play Harrisburg at home on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
