It is the time of year to turn clocks ahead an hour, creating a loss of sleep in the process.
Daylight saving time for 2024 begins at 2 a.m. Sunday and will not switch back until Nov. 3 at the same time.
A bill in the state Legislature that would have changed daylight saving time in Oregon — ending the twice-yearly time changes -— failed Monday. It was narrowly approved in the Senate, but was sent by the House speaker to a committee with too little time to consider it.
One legislator said they plan to reintroduce the bill during the 2025 session.
To become law, Washington and California would need to pass similar legislation.
