Elmira High School’s Homecoming week will include spirit days from Monday to Thursday, a home game against Harrisburg on Friday, and wrap up with the Homecoming dance on Saturday.
The week will start with “Too Tired Monday,” for which students and staff are urged to dress in their pajamas or other laid-back attire.
Tuesday will be “Construction vs. Neon”; dress up in bright colors and hard hats.
Wednesday will be “Pink for Saint” to support former science teacher Ms. Saint as she battles breast and bone cancer.
The spirit days will finish up with “Falcon Madness” on Thursday. Students and staff are encouraged to go all out with Falcon spirit, including face paint, special accessories and wild hair.
There will be no school on Friday, but there will be a Homecoming parade at 4 p.m., starting in the parking lot by Cup of Joe in Veneta.
The EHS Falcons football team will host the Harrisburg Eagles after the parade at 7 p.m., with a purple and gold theme for the student section.
The game will recognize senior players and announce the Homecoming king and queen at halftime.
The Homecoming dance will take place in the cafeteria on Saturday from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Students can purchase dance tickets at the bookkeeper window for $12 per person and $20 per couple. If the student buying the tickets has an ASB sticker, then prices reduce to $8 and $15, respectively.
The dance will feature a DJ, recognize the Homecoming king and queen, and include a complementary picture booth. The theme is Hollywood.
