The Elmira Falcons football team walked off the home field with a big victory, the final score being 67-46.
The Siuslaw Vikings were the first to score, but the Falcons countered that with two touchdowns, one coming from junior wide receiver Kyler Colwell with an 82 yard rush.
In the second quarter, senior quarterback Quinton Buckland made a 14 yard running touchdown. Lennart Kad made a field goal to complete the 1st half of the game.
In the third quarter, the Falcons kept fighting which led them to the 4th quarter where they scored a total of 22 points. Buckland scored two touchdowns along with junior Keelan Hecker.
Buckland led the team with 406 total yards, 246 of them from rushing. Colwell finished with 211 yards receiving and rushing and Hecker with a total of 85 yards.
“This was a great team win,” coach Bo Highburger told Falcon News.
“It was a good game,” Buckland said. “But there are a few things I think our team could do better in the next game against La Pine.”
The Friday night game had a Pink Out theme, with EHS students showing their spirit.
The Falcons get ready to go over the mountains this week to play league opponent La Pine at 7 PM. The next game at home will be vs. Harrisburg with senior night and homecoming on October 20th at 7 PM.
