The Tour of Lights is happening again for the 3rd year!
This event is available for people in the Veneta-Fern Ridge communities.
“Businesses and residence are encouraged to join in on the holiday fun and get decked out for the holidays,” the Chamber of Commerce website stated.
Last year, there were two businesses competing: Robbie’s Windowbox Cafe and Scouts BSA Troop 50.
There were many more residences competing however, with some in Junction City and Elmira. The residences included Braxton and Jema’s Light Show, Candy Cane Corner, Drive On Thru, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Dan & Carmen, A lil Las Vegas Country Style, The Griswold’s, The McCoys and The Parontos, and HiltonFamilyLights.com.
The winner for the business in 2021 was Robbie’s Windowbox Cafe with a prize for $175.
The 1st place winner for residences was A lil Las Vegas Country Style with a prize of $175. The 2nd and 3rd place winners were The McCoys & The Parontos and The Griswolds. They won $100 and $50 respectively.
So far, the Chamber of Commerce does not know what the prizes will be for this year, but it will be cash prizes.
The applications to participate for the 2022 season will be due by Dec. 14.
Voting for the winner of the Tour of Lights will take place Dec. 16 through 25 and the ballots will be available at the Chamber office or on Facebook during that time period.
