Kiwanis of Fern Ridge is hosting a Thanksgiving feast at Mid Lane Cares from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Mid Lane Cares is located at 25035 W. Broadway Ave. in Veneta.
“Kiwanis’ community Thanksgiving makes sure that everyone has an opportunity to enjoy a good meal on this holiday,” according to venetaworks.org.
The Kiwanis will also be holding a Holiday Food Basket Giveaway at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This event will be held at 9 a.m. Dec. 17.
The church is located at 88068 Huston Road in Veneta.
In 2021, the Kiwanis did a drive-in Thanksgiving feast the day before Thanksgiving. In 2014, 2016 and 2019, Kiwanis and Food Lane Cares hosted a free Thanksgiving dinner at Veneta Elementary. Kiwanis also does the Kiwnais Kruise-In and the Easter Egg Hunt.
The Kiwanis’ mission is to look out for children.
Local clubs look out for their communities, while international organizations take on large-scale issues.
On average, members of Kiwanis complete more than 19 million service hours a year and host approximately 150,000 service projects annually.
