Spooktober is an art event at the Fern Ridge Public Library this year.
There are 31 prompts ranging from ghost, nursery rhymes and trick-or-treating to banshees and Phantom of the Opera.
Participants may use any medium, but there is limited space, so make the pieces within reason and no 3D pieces.
The event is for any age group, and that means that every piece must be appropriate for every age.
“This means the following should not be in the piece: obscenity, nudity, drugs and alcohol, politics, or religion. The most important rule for this event is to HAVE FUN! This is all about having fun creating art and sharing it with your community,” according to the library.
Some people colored in coloring pages, while others created original art. Coloring pages can be found in the kids section at the desk under the window.
Participants can post submissions online with the tag #frlspooktoberl, or bring them to the library to be added to the Spooktober wall. The wall is located on the left directly inside the second door. Anyone who would like to keep their art after the event is over should talk first with a librarian at the desk.
