Elmira High School’s mascot has been given a new name. Meet Finnegan the Falcon!
During the week of Sept. 12-16, there was a naming poll located at the library entrance. With permission from Principal Rick Gardner, a Falcon News member pulled together some names with an additional name suggestion box that Elmira students could vote on.
Finnegan was the winner with the names “Falcon” and “Jimmy’ in second and third place, respectively.
Although with a new name, the mascot also a shiny new appearance, illustrated by senior Alivia Tupper.
