The open house at Elmira High School on Wednesday had a better turnout than in the last several years.
“It was a good way to get parents to meet the teachers,” Principal Rick Gardner said.
Although there weren’t many people who attended, it was still a fun night for many parents to talk with their students’ teachers and to see the classrooms. Parents also got to look around the school and learn about what the students will be learning throughout the year.
They helped to lure people in with plates of cookies.
“I wish it was more attended, but it still went really well,” Principal Gardner said.
The next chance that parents will have to talk with teachers will be at the parent-teacher conferences on Oct. 13-14.
