The elections for next year’s EHS class officers will be on Thursday.
Incoming Sophomores
For the Class of 2025, JT Myers is unseating Maya Puff as class president for next year. Puff is running unopposed for class vice president.
She was previously running against her sister, Ananda, although Ananda has not disappeared from the ballot, only to reappear on the ballot in the running for class secretary.
Finally, Mele Turtura is running for class treasurer for the Class of 2025.
Incoming Juniors
Meanwhile, only one position of the Class of 2024 is being contested. The contested race includes Maritza Espinoza, Gavin Snell and June Highburger for class president.
Espinoza and Highburger are both outsiders to the Student Council, and Snell is running for a second term as president.
Two outsiders are running unopposed for Class of 2024 vice president and secretary, those being Trevor Wanaisie and Alicia Murdock, respectively. No one is in the running to be the treasurer for next year’s junior class.
Incoming Seniors
The only class that could see a true political upset is the Class of 2023, next year’s seniors. Former Class President Cody Eutsler, who lost his bid for re-election last year, is seeking to reclaim his former title. He is running against Gracie Storey, Antonio Turtura and Michael Brown, who lost the ASB presidential bid and seeks to implement an agenda of more fundraising to make up for the $1,000 deficit from this year’s prom.
Ashlyn Turnbo, who has two years of experience in Leadership, including a full year as ASB publicity manager appointed by outgoing ASB President Clyde Oglesby, is running for senior class vice president against Jacob Janeczko.
Lastly, Nikita Rose, who served on the Student Council in his ninth-grade year, is seeking to return to the Student Council as the senior class secretary. He is running unopposed.
