The Elmira football team went on the road to Pleasant Hill High School on Friday.
Struggling to score in the first half, the Falcons finished 31-21 for the win.
Senior quarterback and team captain Quentin Buckland finished the night with 216 yards passing and one passing touchdown. Junior receiver Kyler Colwell had 102 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown.
Sophomore Kyron Smith had 121 total yards and two rushing touchdowns. Junior Keelan Hecker had 118 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown.
“We started off slow, but got the job done when we had to late in the game,” sophomore Kyron Smith told Falcon News.
Senior Donovan Hartley felt the game went well, but should have gone better.
“Its was a fun game to play in,” he said “there were too many mental mistakes though that we need to clean up on both sides of the ball.”
In OSAA rankings, Elmira now moves down from 9th to the 12th ranked team in state for 3A.
The Falcons next game is on Friday at home against the Siuslaw Vikings at 7 p.m. The student theme is “Pink Out” for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
