The Falcon baseball season is approaching and the Elmira High School seniors are ready to take it to the playoffs.

Leading them will be varsity head coach JT Rhodes, assistant coach Ty Kohler and JV coach Ethan Davis.

The coaches said the priority this season is to make it to the post-season.

“Our focus this year is not to be individuals,” the coaches told Falcon News. “It is to out-work, out-hustle and ultimately out-team the other team to bring Elmira their first league championship since 1995.”

The first game of the season will take place on March 12 at 2 p.m. at Dayton. The first home game will be against Cascade Christian on March 16.

All of the Falcon seniors are prepared to “out-work” the other teams so they can make it to the playoffs.

Falcon News interviewed the seven seniors on their thoughts and goals for this season.

Brenden Davis “Work while they sleep, so I can live how they dream.”

Austyn Woolcott — “If you work hard enough it will pay off in the future.”

Ethan Bennett “If the team works hard and show up to practice every day, we can go to state.”

Colton Leturno “If you treat each day like a training, we will go to state.”

Trentyn Herbert “Hit the ball and let’s go to state and win.”

Quinton Marshall — “I hope everyone hits the ball and we go to state for our last year.”

Jonathan Rhodes “Give a man a fish, you’ll feed him once. Teach a man how to fish, feed him for life.”
